THE LAW IN THE FIELD OF ACCREDITATION

On October 24, 2016 the Law of the Republic of Belarus № 437-Z "On the assessment of compliance with technical requirements and accreditation of conformity assessment bodies" is accepted.

The law aims at identifying legal and organizational framework for assessing the compliance with technical requirements and for accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. The law ensures a unified state policy in the field of conformity assessment and accreditation, taking into account the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of January 5, 2004 "On technical regulation and standardization ".

The law will come into force nine months after its official publication (published in the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on October 29, 2016). The law stipulates that state administrative bodies supervised by the Council of Ministers are to bring normative legal acts into compliance with the new Law. Thus, in accordance with Article 61 "Measures to implement the provisions of the Law" the legal act "Rules for Accreditation" (approved by the Decision of the State Committee for standardization of the Republic of Belarus on May 31, 2011 № 27) will be revised by mid 2017 in order to comply with the Law № 437-W of October 24, 2016.
