The formation of the draft scope of accreditation of inspection bodies is carried out in accordance with Appendix 2 to the Accreditation Rules, taking into account the requirements of RI SM 7.8-02.

Accreditation criteria that apply to inspection bodies of types A, B or C, as well as to any stage of inspection, are established in accordance with the requirements of the fundamental standards (identical to international standards in the field of accreditation) and documents of international accreditation organizations EA, ILAC, are given in the appendix to PL SM 4.6.1
Type A inspection body:
Inspection body of type A shall meet the following criteria:
1) The inspection body must be independent from the interested parties. The inspection body and the personnel responsible for the control must not be involved in the development, manufacture, supply, installation and repair or be the buyer, owner, consumer of the controlled products. The personnel of the inspection body must not be an authorized representative of any of these parties.
2) The inspection body shall not engage in any activity that might affect the independence of judgement and the impartiality of its inspection activities. In particular, it shall not be directly involved in the design, manufacture, supply, installation or servicing of the products to be inspected or their equivalents manufactured by competing organizations.
3) All interested parties shall have access to the services of the inspection body. The procedures followed by the inspection body shall not be discriminatory.
Type B inspection body:
A type B inspection body shall satisfy the following criteria:
1) The organizational structure shall clearly delineate the responsibilities of personnel performing inspection and personnel performing other functions, and shall establish the reporting line of the inspection body to the organization of which it is a part.
2) The inspection body and its personnel shall not engage in activities that might affect the independence of its judgement and the impartiality of its inspection activities. In particular, it shall not be directly involved in the design, manufacture, supply, installation or servicing of products subject to inspection or manufactured by competing organisations.
3) Inspection services shall only be provided to the organisation of which the inspection body is a division.
Type C inspection body:
The Type C inspection body shall meet the following criteria:
The inspection body shall ensure that, within the organisation, the duties and responsibilities of the commission members are segregated when the organisation provides inspection work.
