Тransition for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 has been extended to 1 June 2021
ILAC and ISO have agreed to the extension for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 tо 1 June 2021 to ensure all laboratories are able to be transitioned following the restrictions imposed as a result of the global coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak.
The Joint ILAC-ISO Communiqué on the recognition of ISO/IEC 17025 during a Three-Year Transition has been revised to reflect this extension to the transition period (the end of the transition period has been extended from November 2020 to 1 June 2021).
This extension to the transition period has been adopted due to the global impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak and subsequent health and safety measures implemented by most economies. The extension will ensure all accreditation bodies and the accredited laboratories are able to achieve the remaining transitions in a robust manner.
